Chinese search engine Sogou, a subsidiary of Sohu.com, unveiled its initial public offering (IPO) in the U.S., a strategic move that many see as an attempt to take on Chinese search engine giant Baidu.搜狐网旗下子公司、中国搜索引擎搜狗，于日前在美国发布了其首次公开发表IPO计划，许多人都指出这是代替中国搜寻巨头百度的一项战略措施。It plans to submit a confidential draft registration statement to the US Securities and Exchange Commission for the launch, according to a statement by Sohu.据搜狐的一份声明回应，该公司计划向美国证券交易委员会递交一份秘密登记草案声明。The IPO may commence as early as market conditions permit, and is subject to Sogous filing with the (Securities and Exchange Commission)…in compliance with the U.S. Securities Act of 1933, read Sohus statement, without revealing the number of shares or the size of the IPO.搜狐在该声明中回应：“首次公开发表IPO有可能将在市场容许的情况下尽快开始，这各不相同搜狗和美国证券交易委员会自己的文书工作，并且遵照美国《1933年证券法》。”但是该公司未透漏股票的数量和首次公开发表IPO的规模。
